Five programmes, each one started because a volunteer saw a need at a distribution centre.
Khichdi Distribution
खिचड़ी वितरण
Hot, freshly cooked khichdi served every day at Thakur Village Centre and every Sunday at Samta Nagar and Asha Nagar.
It began with one pot of khichdi on a Sunday. Four friends stood at Thakur Village Centre in 2016 and served whoever was hungry — no forms, no questions, no conditions.
Today that same meal goes out every single day at Thakur Village Centre, and every Sunday at Samta Nagar Centre and Asha Nagar Centre. The food is cooked fresh, served warm, and offered with the dignity every person deserves.
A hot meal is rarely just a hot meal. It is one less worry in a difficult day, and for many of the people we serve, it is the meal that lets them keep going.
Books & Stationery

Notebooks, books, pens and complete stationery kits so children from low-income families can keep learning with dignity.
Each year we distribute books, notebooks, pens and stationery kits to children from low-income families across Mumbai.
A child who arrives at school without a notebook learns something they should never have to learn — that they do not quite belong there. A stationery kit is a small thing to give and a large thing to receive.
We hand these kits directly to the children and their families, so nothing is lost along the way and no one has to ask twice.
Raincoat Distribution

Raincoats handed out before the Mumbai monsoon, so a wet season does not become a lost school term.
Mumbai's monsoon is relentless. For a family living on the edge, a soaked uniform means a missed school day; a soaked worker means a missed day's wage; wet clothes worn all day mean illness that no one can afford to treat.
Before the rains arrive, our volunteers distribute raincoats to children and families who would otherwise walk through four months of downpour unprotected.
It is a simple, practical piece of protection — and it keeps children in classrooms through the wettest months of the year.
Blanket Distribution
कंबल वितरण
Warm blankets distributed through the colder months to families and individuals sleeping without shelter.
Winter nights are harder for people who sleep on pavements, at construction sites and outside stations. A blanket is the difference between a night endured and a night survived.
Our volunteers distribute blankets through the colder months, going out to the places where people actually are rather than waiting for them to come to us.
Grocery Kits
राशन किट
Staple ration kits for families who need to cook at home rather than queue for a meal.
Not everyone who needs food can come to a distribution centre. Families with small children, elderly people living alone, and those recovering from illness need provisions they can cook at home.
Our grocery kits carry staples that last a household through several weeks, delivered without ceremony and without conditions.

New programmes start when volunteers see a need at a centre and bring it back to the group. Anything listed on this page is something we actually run today — we do not advertise work we have not begun.
