Every day at Thakur Village Centre, and every Sunday at Samta Nagar and Asha Nagar, a pot of khichdi is cooked and served to whoever is hungry. No forms. No questions. No conditions.
Shri Arham Foundation grew out of one such Sunday in 2016, when four kalyan mitras decided that the simplest response to hunger was to cook. What began as a single meal is now a daily commitment carried by more than fifty volunteers — extended over the years to books and stationery for children, raincoats before the monsoon, blankets through winter, and grocery kits for families who cannot come to us.
Our work is rooted in the Jain principles of अहिंसा (non-violence) and करुणा (compassion) — but it is offered to everyone, without distinction of faith, caste or circumstance.

Who We Are
Arham Foundation, known to everyone as Khichdi Ghar
We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to serving underprivileged communities across Mumbai — distributing free food, raincoats, blankets, grocery kits and notebooks.
Founded in 2016 by four kalyan mitras, we began by giving khichdi every Sunday at Thakur Village Centre. We have since grown into an organisation of over fifty members, distributing meals every day at Thakur Village Centre and every Sunday at Samta Nagar and Asha Nagar. We intend to open more centres in the coming years.
Our mission is straightforward: that no one goes hungry, stays unprotected in harsh weather, or lacks the basic materials to learn.
