Donation & Refund Policy

How contributions are handled, acknowledged and — where necessary — refunded.

Last updated: 11 September 2026

This policy explains how donations to Shri Arham Foundation are collected, acknowledged and, in the limited circumstances described below, refunded.

1. Nature of donations

A donation made through this website is a voluntary contribution towards our social welfare work. It is not a purchase, and no goods or services are provided in exchange for it.

Donations are accepted between ₹1 and ₹500,000 through this website. For a larger contribution, please contact us directly.

2. How your donation is used

You may choose an initiative when you donate — food distribution, education, books and stationery, raincoats, blankets, or general support. We apply your contribution to that initiative wherever practical.

Where a chosen initiative is already fully funded for its current cycle, or where an urgent need arises elsewhere, we may apply the contribution to another of our initiatives. Every donation is used for the charitable work of the foundation.

3. Payment processing

Online payments are processed by Razorpay. Our server creates the payment order and independently verifies Razorpay's cryptographic signature before a donation is recorded as successful. We do not receive, and do not store, your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or banking credentials.

4. Acknowledgement

Once a payment is verified on our server, we email a confirmation to the address you provided, containing your name, the amount, the purpose, the payment reference and the date. A printable acknowledgement is also available immediately after donating.

If you do not receive a confirmation within a reasonable time, please contact us with your payment reference.

5. Refunds and cancellations

Donations are generally non-refundable, because funds are committed to distribution drives soon after they are received. We will, however, consider a refund in the following cases:

  • Duplicate payment — the same donation was charged more than once.
  • Incorrect amount — a clear error in the amount entered, for example an extra digit.
  • Unauthorised transaction — the payment was not made by you or with your consent.
  • Technical error — money was debited but the donation was not recorded on our side.

How to request a refund

Write to shriarhamfoundation@gmail.com within 7 days of the transaction, including:

  • The Payment ID and Order ID from your confirmation email.
  • The date and amount of the donation.
  • The reason for the request.

We aim to acknowledge every request within 3 working days. Where a refund is approved, it is processed back to the original payment method through Razorpay, and normally reaches your account within 5 to 10 working days depending on your bank.

6. Failed and cancelled payments

If a payment fails or you cancel it during checkout, no donation is recorded and no amount is collected by us. Any amount your bank shows as pending is released automatically. If a debited amount is not reversed within 7 working days, please contact us with the Order ID.

7. Chargebacks

If you raise a chargeback with your bank, we will cooperate fully with the investigation. We would ask you to contact us first — most issues are resolved faster directly.

8. Tax

Any statement about tax exemption will appear here only if and when the foundation holds the relevant certificate. Please contact us for the current position before assuming a donation is tax-deductible.

9. Donor privacy

Donor details are handled as set out in our Privacy Policy. We do not publish donor names or share donor information with third parties for their own use.
